Katahdin Analytical Services, Inc. is a full service environmental laboratory located in Scarborough, Maine providing multi-media environmental analyses of groundwater, wastewater, soil, sediment and bulk materials. Established in November 1995 by the acquisition of the PACE Inc. laboratories in Maine and New Hampshire, Katahdin is now one of the largest environmental laboratories in New England. Since the laboratory's creation in 1995, Katahdin has been involved in a full range of activities in the New England region, throughout the United States, and Puerto Rico. Our laboratory services industrial, consulting and engineering firm, and Federal clients nationwide by maintaining state certifications and approvals in all Department of Defense environmental programs.
In addition, Katahdin has provided clients with a variety of specialty analyses. The laboratory has modified SW846 Method 8082 for low-level PCB analyses. The laboratory also has on-going projects with requirements for low detection limits utilizing Selected Ion Monitoring (SIM) for PAHs and vinyl chloride. Methods development studies were successfully undertaken on these projects and now these analyses are in production. The laboratory strives with efforts like these to be on the cutting edge of technology.
